 Who are you, which island are you from and what are the best features of that island?
I'm Ambika Nessa Rahming, a 28 year old mother of two. I was born and raised in Nassau but my heart will forever lie in Andros. The big yard is where I spent my first few years of life and many many holidays thereafter. Andros was and is still a place I love to go to just kick back with friends and family and really enjoy life. The beaches, the food and the old folk tales will always remain with me.
What is your favourite Bahamian Tradition?
My favorite Bahamian tradition has to be going to Regatta's on the islands. I love regatta's and not necessarily the actual boat race, but all of the cultural activities that go on during regatta, not to mention the non stop parties.
What does The Bahamas have to offer besides Sun, Sand and Sea?
The people, the culture and some of the best food around town. Where else can you kick back with a cold Kalik and a bowl of conch salad?
What changes would you like to see in The Bahamas?
I would like for Bahamians to be just that: Bahamians. I would also like for a more diverse source of income. Presently the Bahamas is too dependent on Tourism, we must branch out and look at other avenues.
Which Country(ies) would you like to visit?
I would love to Ireland, Italy and Australia.
What did you enjoy most during your visit to other Country(ies)?
I enjoyed experiencing other cultures, meeting new people and most of all the architecture and history.
Anything about The Bahamian Culture you would like to share?
Anyone visiting the Bahamas must experience two things Junkanoo and a bowl of conch salad.
